Good point about the distance and dense forest. I've played sites where you cant see the man 5 Metres in front of you, let alone 50.
So, get shot, and fall down in position. Call for your medic, if he/she doesn't appear, bleed out after 10 minutes. Then move X metres behind your side before you rejoin?
I like the idea of making the medic bag itself a target. In fact, sod it, you could make a mission out of it - raid a static Medical Supplies Cache or something similar.

Where will the overnight kit be stored? Would it not be a good idea to set-up camp at the beginning of the day in order to keep stuff safe and dry?
Also, if it's raining and there are concerns about fatigue and stamina the last thing people will want to do is dig in or set camp up like that.
Personally I think it's a much more authentic and fun way to do things the way it's written as I like this sort of shit, but most won't I assume.
Also think that reveille should be at 6am. Most people would be awake at this time, it's plenty of sleep, and with the sun rising at 4.45am it would be daylight and good to make the most of the remaining time.

Anyone got the OS reference for the IED site?
I know you've posted a map Guy, but I'd like to have a closer look online.

should take you to it .
I'm working on a period version of the OS map at the mo , ie B&W with all modern names etc removed. Should be up for the weekend .
I still thik we should get five or six of us together on site i kit (say somewhere central) and do some short vids of our rules set in action, being dmoed and then put them up on the site to view.

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
A site visit was proposed but not considered essential . It's a long way ot go , but think it still worht doing , esp if we make it into a photoshoot as well .
Map

Does the playing area have a natural boundary or is it marked out?

Boundaries are roads on the southern side and the end of the woods on the northern side.
Note our map is correct in terms of de forested areas .
Site entry is a point z, cars parked up between a and z .
German base /V1 will be between e and d
Allied base in the woods south of a-b, probably closer to y
We will be playing mainly in the southern part of the site .

Okay... can we quickly confirm that we'll be at Gadges tomorrow night for the meeting?
I'll be there sometime around 7pm
Yes, I'm OK, kids are sorting themselves out ![]()

Richard, Stephen , have you recruited any NCOs yet ?, as IMHO it needs thinking about pre the game .
Guy... if you see I've asked you for the info that you deleted... once I have that I may be able to start looking at NCOs.

Will have a think about it this weekend, but do need the unit list.

Guy... if you see I've asked you for the info that you deleted... once I have that I may be able to start looking at NCOs.
Sorry wasn't online last night at all . The list on the booking forum is what you've got to work with , I sorry but I deleted most of the "usefull" stuff as I was more interested in making sure I had all the players and their deposits rather than worrying about people playing 101 or 82 or GD or 9th SS .
You'll need at least one or two decent NCOs , capable of leading a squad independantly for a few hours. The resot of the time you'll be able ot control it between the two of you I'd have thought .
TWAT
I give you the job of rebuilding the f'ing list then
FOR FUCK SAKE WHAT WERE YOU THINKING.
VERY PISSED OFF.
That's well out of order .
We only looked at weapons becuase of the imbalance in firepower, which has not been an issue at any game , hence not bothered by it now.
With 14 pages of waffle to wander through , my main concern was capturing all the financial information to make sure we were'n't ripping someone off, and so I could balance the financial figures. The number of posts with people changing impression from one unit to the next was not a priority on the booking thread.
Personally couldn't give a monkeys what unit they are portraying as long as they turn up pay and play . Allies start the game of as a split up parajump , you can split them up by pretty coloured uniforms after you coalesce.
